This painting is a commission I created for Tamera based on her personal experience and impression of a painting of mine called “Enjoy the Silence.” She wrote “I lived in Japan for awhile, in a small town called Kinugawa, about 2 hours north of Tokyo. One day, after a snowfall, I took a walk by myself through the woods. It was very cold and all the trees were stripped of their leaves, just bare slender onyx bones. The sky was a messy grey and the forrest floor beneath my feet was a carpet of pure white. I had no idea where I was going but as I kept walking, the landscape became a painting in my mind. Everything was void of color and allI could see for miles was images of black and white. Very profound and beautiful memory. Your piece conjured that up for me.”
